Don Struke
Very nice art and it is based on one of the most reproduced B-24 photos of WW II. Taken by Cliff Stocking, the original photo caught "Little Warrior" an instant after a flak round pierced its fuel tanks on 29 June 1944 over Wolfsburg, Germany. Nine of the crew were killed when it crashed and one, the co-pilot, 22-year-old Sidney Benson, was beaten by German air raid wardens and died in a hospital the next day.
